How It Started
A family-owned workshop, on a single lot in Austin
Couch Potatoes started as a small upholstery shop on North I-35 — one sewing machine, three upholsterers, and a line of local designers who needed custom work turned around quickly. Two and a half decades later, we still build every piece on the same lot.
Furniture Reserve is our answer to a simple question: what if everything in our showroom was made to the same standard as what we build in the back?

How It's Made
Frames, springs, and cushions built by hand
Every Reserve Collection piece begins with kiln-dried hardwood joinery, gets hand-tied eight-way springs, and is upholstered by craftspeople with an average tenure over a decade. It's slower than everything else on the market. That's the point.
We pick sustainable materials, publish our sourcing standards, and build furniture meant to be re-covered, not replaced.
